A short walk takes you to the pebble beach and there is a playground in the village. This is a wonderful uncommercialised area, popular with walkers exploring the "Sheep's Head" peninsula.

~ The closest beach is a pebble beach. There is a sandy beach in Bantry, around nineteen miles away.
Bantry is a town with a large variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. There is a cinema, pharmacy and banks here. Most things you could need, you will find here. Bantry is around 40 minutes' drive from the house.
~ The White House Gallery offers crafts and painting. You can also get teas and coffees here.
~ Sheep's Head Way is a renowned walking and cycling route through the mountain covering the Sheep's Head Peninsula from Bantry down to the most southernly tip of Cork, the Sheep's Head Lighthouse. Each loop is colour-coded so they're easy to follow and scheduled walks are arranged if you would like to join a group!
~ There is a magnificent drive northwards over Seefin, part of it known as the Goat's Path and along Bantry Bay towards Bantry town.
~ Carbery Sailing in Ahakista offer sailing training on Bantry, Dunmanus and Roaring Water Bays.
~ Bantry House and Garden is a stately home on the Wild Atlantic Way overlooking Bantry Bay. The estate is still occupied by the family and is open to visitors to explore. There is an onsite tearoom and a B and B.
~ Whiddy Island is a short ferry ride from Bantry Town and is a haven for wildlife. There is a pub on the island, The Bank House, which opens regularly offers fresh food and live music through the summer months.
~ Mizen Head is around 30 miles away. It's the very tip of Ireland with breathtaking scenery from the arched bridge. There is a coffee shop on site.
