Located in the glorious setting of the Tipperary countryside, this is a luxurious Georgian Country House purchased by the current owner’s ancestor, William Baker, on the 15th of October 1704. Lovingly modernized to cater for modern life living and its comfort, the property retains most original features and furnishing, giving its guests the once-in-a-life-time opportunity to step back in the past, for a real taste of old world grandeur. The present design as a two storey building over a basement in a mildly Tudor-Gothic style was conceived in 1813 by the Irish architect William Robertson.

The interior is classically late Georgian, covered with a thin Gothick layer. The large rooms have good plasterwork, a fine wide staircase, and a wonderful set of mahogany doors on the ground floor. Several rooms retain their early wallpaper, dating from the 1830s. The downstairs layout features a Drawing Room with its original wallpaper, the elegant west facing Dining Room, and a charming Library where the architect's preparatory sketches for the house are still displayed. A sweeping staircase leads you to the guests rooms.

All spacious and stylish bedrooms have a King or Queen size bed. Three of the bedrooms have en-suite baths, and two of the bedrooms share the fourth. All bathrooms boast sumptuous deep soaking baths and modern showers. Outside is fine open parkland, with unforgettable views of the Galtee Mountains and the Glen of Aherlow, and an unusually long avenue of lime trees, the same views that can be admired from the pine shuttered windows of most rooms.

The house is available to rent on a weekly basis, usually from Saturday to Saturday and different packages are available to cater for different needs. The House operates as a fully serviced holiday rental. It is fully staffed, and breakfast is included within the rate. Lunch and dinner can be arranged at an extra charge.
